The Dot Cake took over every feed in sight this year, and Smoothie King just did the smart thing: they put it in a cup and added protein.

Starting Oct. 27, participating shops roll out the Dot Cake Protein Smoothie and the Dot Cake Protein Toast for a limited time, while supplies last. The smoothie blends bananas with the chain's Slim-N-Trim Blend and lands at 13 grams of protein. The toast goes on multigrain bread with your pick of chocolate hazelnut or peanut butter spread, and it clears 11 grams of protein.

Sprinkle cake with protein numbers on it is a party you can call breakfast.

Both get covered in Supernatural Rainbow Nonpareils Sprinkles, which is where the Dot Cake crunch comes from. The sprinkles skip artificial colors, so the rainbow on top does its job without the dye job. You get the full sprinkle blanket look that made the cake famous, in a form you can hold in one hand on the way out the door.

Smoothie King says the Dot Cake drew lines around the block in its cake form, and you can see why they moved fast. Sprinkle cake is a party.
