Everybody has a talent. Tomi Kotilainen, a 26 year old chef from Finland, found his, and it is drinking orange soda at a speed that should probably concern his doctor.

Guinness World Records confirmed this week that Kotilainen set the record for the fastest time to drink 500 ml of soda, downing the whole thing in 3.16 seconds. He made the attempt back on June 13 in Jarvenpaa, in front of a crowd, and he was the first person ever to claim this title. To get it, he had to finish in under five seconds. He beat that bar by almost two full seconds, which in chugging terms is a lifetime.

Three seconds. That is not drinking a soda, that is deleting it.

His weapon of choice was Jaffa, the orange soda he calls the best drink in the world. Asked how he trained for the attempt, he gave the most honest answer in sports history: "By drinking." Three seconds. That is not drinking a soda, that is deleting it.

Guinness also notes the attempt ended the way physics demands, with one enormous burp. Kotilainen thinks he can go even faster and already wants more drink records. Some people collect stamps. This man collects carbonation related achievements, and frankly, the world is better for it.
