The PB&J Corn Dog Is Real and the Arizona State Fair Has No Chill

October 5, 2026 • Moe Train Eats

The Arizona State Fair just looked at a corn dog and said, you know what this needs? Reese's peanut butter and raspberry jelly.

That is the PB&J corn dog, one of this year's new creations at the fair, and I have questions. A hot dog on a stick, already battered and fried, gets smothered in peanut butter and jelly for a sweet-and-salty situation. Somebody in a test kitchen actually greenlit this. Somewhere, a fair food vendor looked at two childhood favorites and decided they were better as one.

And look, I get the fair game. State fairs exist for fried chaos. But the PB&J corn dog has a certain commitment to the bit I respect. It is not a cute little drizzle. It is a full smother. No half measures.

Also on the roster: prickly pear funnel cakes and fries battered in beef tallow, tossed in European butter and Parmesan, then topped with black truffle mayo. The fair has more than 90 food vendors this year, and every single one of them apparently woke up and chose violence.

Would I try it? The truffle fries are a yes before you finish the sentence. The PB&J corn dog, well. I have eaten weirder things on camera. Probably going to have to try this one, because somebody has to report back, and that somebody is usually me.
