Round 1, matchup 7. Carolina Gold is the mustard-based outsider of the barbecue family, good on the right wing at the right price. Teriyaki, especially built on kecap manis, is a Moe Train cornerstone flavor. One of these got a compliment. The other got a bath drawn. In his own words:

Bro, teriyaki all day. Salty and sweet? Hell yes. I can smell and taste these wings right now. If you've ever had wings made with Kecap Manis, sweet and sticky soy sauce, then you know that these wings will have you punching the air in true ecstasy with every bite. This savory powerhouse has earned it, respect across the culinary kingdom, and I'm here for it year after year.

Draw me a bath of teriyaki, throw a ton of wings in there, and I'm going diving!

Moe Train

For some reason, Carolina Gold feels a bit like the bastard child of barbecue sauces. Yeah, it's good. It's not great, but it's pretty good. I do like it on wings, and often get it when I get a massive 50 pack of breaded wings from Publix.

Shout out to Publix for having great priced wings that are absolutely delicious, huge, and very consistent. If you're in Florida, you've gotta have some Publix wings when you're down here.

The verdict

Teriyaki takes matchup 7 and moves on to Round 2 of the Moe Train Picks wing sauce bracket.
