Round 1, matchup 6, the balance fight. Salt and Vinegar is a Moe Train all-timer in chip form, and Garlic Parmesan lives or dies on one ratio. He explains the whole thing better than a scouting report could. In his own words:

If we're talking about chips, I'm picking salt and vinegar every single time. However, garlic Parmesan can be amazing, especially if there's a higher ratio of Parmesan than garlic in the sauce.

Herr's salt and vinegar potato chips are one of the true GOATs in the potato chip game.

Moe Train

These wings need to be dripping with lots of Parmesan, and enough garlic that doesn't overpower the Parmesan flavor. I've had a lot of wings that are just so overpowered with garlic that you can't taste anything else. Balance is always important, but when you're dealing with flavors like garlic, it is.

Herr's salt and vinegar potato chips are one of the true GOATs in the potato chip game, and they're made less than a half hour from where I used to live in the Philadelphia suburbs. But when it comes to wings, they're just a bit too dry for me. The savory mixed with acidic and tangy vinegar is a great mix.

Maybe I just haven't had truly excellent salt and vinegar wings yet, but garlic Parmesan is a strong winner in this round.

The verdict

Garlic Parmesan takes matchup 6 and moves on to Round 2 of the Moe Train Picks wing sauce bracket.
