KFC has launched its first ever cereal, and it is not the kind of cereal you grew up on. KFCereal is a savory, chicken-flavored crunchy cereal inspired by the chain's iconic 11 herbs and spices, and instead of milk, customers are advised to pour a hot cup of KFC gravy over it. The limited-edition box was made with brand SURREAL, went on sale September 22 for six pounds online only in the UK, and reactions have been exactly as measured as you would expect. One shopper said it made them feel physically sick. Another said they would rather rub salt in their eyes. A third had to check that it was not April 1st.

And yet, people are already buying it, because of course they are. Look, I have been a competitive eater. I have seen things done to food that would make a chef weep. But a chicken cereal with gravy instead of milk is either a war crime against breakfast or the most honest fast food product ever made. At least KFC is no longer pretending.
